Kevin Griffin

My trip to New Orleans has truly been an unforgettable one.  Even six years after Hurricane Katrina, the Lower Ninth Ward is still barely rebuilt.  The people of this area are struggling to become resettled in their community, and the Lower Ninth Ward Village is doing a huge part in helping to rebuild.  Hopefully with the help of other colleges and volunteers, the Village can become a safe haven for young citizens to gather in and stay away from crime.  Working on the Village has really made me realize how much help this community needs to be rebuilt.   Other than cleaning up the Lower Ninth Ward, this trip has had many other fun excursions.  Our trip into the city left me with many great memories.  Probably my favorite part of the city was Yo Mama’s Burgers.  This restaurant served some of the best burgers I ever tasted, and I am hoping to return to get another one before we return to Massachusetts!
